Why is Organization Important For Students?

Organization is huge when it comes to student life. Over the years, I have had numerous parents say their child is an 'A' student but cannot seem to make the grades and achieve the success they are capable of. Here are some key reasons that organization is so important!

1- It Saves You Time: If students are keeping up with their assignments, cleaning out unused work/clutter, they will know exactly where everything is at all times! This is a great benefit when they start to get older and coursework gets a lot more challenging. Time is so precious and seems to be limited now days, so saving any time you can is key!

2- It Allows You To Keep Pace: Sometimes the pace of the learning in class can be quite overwhelming. However, if a student comes home each day and organizes their notes, gathers important information from instruction, and keeps their binders and folders organized, the fast pace learning can quickly become a breeze! This takes a student taking just a few moments each day, but in the end, it allows them to keep up with the pace of the class and retain the information more successfully.

3- You Don't Miss Details and Deadlines: This is so important! Students need to be DAILY writing down assignments and important dates of projects, etc. Simply saying they will remember and not writing it down becomes an issue when their lives are busy and they are trying to keep up with 20 things at once! When students are young, this is a great time to instill and teach this skill. Make sure they show you their binders and are writing down all of their daily homework, and planning in advance for papers and projects that are in the near future. If they continue to do this, they will not be late to turn in assignments, and they will always be prepared for class!

4- It Prevents Stress: Student life isn't as easy as it used to be. There are so many extracurricular activities kids are involved in, alongside them trying to keep up with classes and coursework in school. Being organized allows for students to be better prepared in all aspect of their life. They are on top of things, always knowing what is in front of them and what is expected of them. Organization takes the added stress out of their lives! Living a stress free life is definitely the best way to be!

With over 19 years of tutoring experience, I have seen just how important organization is at all ages and grade levels. Helping students get organized and providing them with academic coaching to teach them how to organize on their own allows them to gain tremendous success.

If you have a student who could use some help getting organized, all of our tutors on staff can help provide them the support they need! We would love to help your family get on the right track and get organized!
